Trained in architecture and inspired by the built world, Dustin Rousseau references the process of pouring concrete walls in his Framework series. In construction, wood forms are used to support wet concrete and removed once the cement has cured, revealing gaps and marks. Similarly, Rousseau uses thickened paint, repetitive lines and deep mark-making to create highly textural surfaces.
General Public, an art curation and publishing company based in LA, is revolutionizing the way we think about and collect art. Founded by Portia de Rossi, a collector and art world disruptor, General Public makes a radical proposition: a painting shouldn't be enjoyed by just one person, but should be available to all. The General Public Synograph, a groundbreaking 3-D technology, redefines the limits of printing, recreating every detail of the original artwork with total fidelity. Capturing the nuances of brushwork and technique, these textured prints are an authentic expression of the artist's hand.
